DIY Lip Masks, simple & easy!

It may seem that no matter how much lip balm or Chapstick you apply, your lips are dry and cracked cause sometimes our lips need a little extra loving’ and that’s when a lip mask or scrub comes in. A simple lip mask may help you get nice, soft lips. However, most of these masks will require a few days or week before you start to see any prominent difference. So let’s get the goodness of natural ingredients and try this DIY lip mask which does miracles.

HONEY AND CUCUMBER

Cucumbers are an excellent lip mask ingredient. They’re full of water and antioxidants, so it’s no surprise that muddled cucumber is great for your lips. Take 1 teaspoon of honey and 2 teaspoons of muddled cucumber (peel the cucumber before you muddle) and try to only use the sides of the cucumber so you don’t have any chunky seeds in your lip mask mixture. This mask will hydrate your lips as well as moisturize them.

Butter Lip Mask 

This lip mask mixes shea butter and beeswax to create a hydrating substance that will leave your lips feeling soft and plump. Shea butter is full of antioxidants and fatty acids that can heal chapped lips and beeswax is added to moisturize and prevent infections. To add some color to the mask, you can mix in a pinch of your favorite lipstick. 

Green Hydrating Lip Mask 

Avocado isn’t just for toast. It’s commonly used for face, lip, and even hair masks. Avocado contains vitamin C which is a crucial component of collagen production and vitamin E, a nutrient that has antioxidant properties that protect the skin. Just mash up a ripe avocado in a bowl and measure out two teaspoons. Then mix in the honey and you’re ready to go. This mask is recommended to treat smoker’s lines.

Aloe Lip Mask

Aloe vera is best known for its treatment of sunburns, however, it is less known for its effects on lips. It’s full of anti-inflammatory properties that fight inflammation and can create a cooling and soothing effect on chapped lips. This one is simple before bed, apply a small amount of aloe vera to chapped lips and rinse it off in the morning and apply throughout the day as needed.

Strawberry, Coconut Oil & Honey Lip Mask

The nutritious properties of strawberries are paired with the moisturizing effects of coconut oil and exfoliating benefits of honey for a soft and smooth pout in seconds. Take 1 strawberry, 1 ½ teaspoon of granulated white sugar, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 1 teaspoon of honey Mix all the ingredients then massage the mixture on your lips for a couple of minutes and wipe off the lip mask for soft lips.
